Hey~Happy Halloween, PEOPLE!

Fri Oct 30, 2009, 5:35 PM
I wasn't planning to dress up today, but at lunch time my friend brought this white oil face paint, and it doesn't take much to turn myself into that creepy lady from the GRUDGE - (my all time fav horror movie XD). Scared a couple of people - and felt super satisfied -v-~
Finished my first commision art, too~ DA is such a great place~

Thanks a lot! XD
I have all 5 volumes of PM, and 2 vols of kurogane - still trying to get the PM art book.It looks amazing >v<

Yeah ^^ I am a HUGE fan...
~ I have the WHOLE DVD boxset with signatures on the DVD covers from Cris Patton (Susumu), Monica Rial (Saizo/Saiya) and Vic Mignogna (Tatsunosuke)
~ The ORIGINAL first 3 volumes of the Peacemaker manga (published by ADV films)
~ all 5 Volumes of Peacemaker (re-published by Tokyopop)
~ and the first 2 Volumes of Peacemaker Kurogane (from Tokyopop)

And I got my friends hooked on the series ^^ and I pride myself on the original manga volumes (no longer in print) and the boxset with the signatures because ADVFilms went out of business in September ;.;

OMG, you ARE a big fan of PM! XD Even the signitures!?
one set of manga is enough for me, and i don't like the anime version of it that much because it looks so different from the manga - especially Souji-sama, they make him look too female-looking...(which is really troubling, 'cause my friends always mistaken Souji for a woman! - and it really gets on my nerves = =+)
:iconheartlessghost24:
Yes... I LOVE the series... well Peacemaker (manga) and the Anime are the same... Peacemaker Kurogane is like... What happens next after Peacemaker... and it's nice cuz if you watch the anime... and want to know what happens... Peacemaker Kurogane is a continuation of the anime series ^^...

Also... Souji being feminine is very very accurate. I have studied Japanese history and culture for 4-5 years now and one of my FAVORITE subjects was the Shinsengumi... Souji Okita was a real life figure... Quite a few of these men in Peacemaker (if you want to know which ones I can tell you) were real life historical figures... And were ALSO in Rurouni Kenshin... Both Peacemaker and Rurouni Kenshin are heavily influenced by actual historical figures that changed Japanese and Samurai history. Souji Okita was one of them, he was said to look more like a woman and got compliments for his beauty also he had the looks of a child and sometimes was said to not be taken seriously even though he was a master with a sword. Souji looks the same in the anime as he does the manga too... And he's accurate to historical facts. He was a VERY sick man from childhood and the facts about what he was plagued with was never clear, but when he passed away he had died from tuberculosis, hence why he coughs up blood.

Hajime Saito was another real life historical figure and one of the most known Shinsengumi members... He was a wolf of mibu and then became a law enforcement officer... He later drifted away into the mountains and NO ONE knows what happened to him after that. He was said to have become an apothecary after his Officer days... And then that's when he went to live in the mountains... he has said to have lived up there in peace and died, but no one knows for sure. He was considered what would be "Our Elvis" and since his disappearance there were several sightings of him wandering cities he was familiar with or lived in. Not only is he in Peacemaker, but he is actually one of the main characters in Rurouni Kenshin and Samurai X..

^^ but if you would like to know ANY more information on these historical figures, let me know... The subject FASCINATES me and I LOVE talking about ANYTHING shinsengumi and stuff! Believe it or not... but Peacemaker and Rurouni Kenshin are not the only ones... ALOT of animes use these historical characters' names in other animes (even if they are not samurai) even though typically people don't catch the reference unless they know shinsengumi history... hahah... What I LOVE about Peacemaker though... is that it is MUCH MORE historically accurate than Rurouni Kenshin... RK usually makes references to events that shaped Japan... Peacemaker actually uses those events to MAKE their series... Like the Ikeda incident... and the small Choshu rebellions... Even some of those tiny battles you see in the series... like the one where Souji, Shinpachi and Sanosuke they killed those Choshu men that picked on Saya... even though Saya was not a real girl... and there was no little girl in that incident... That fight REALLY did happen... Cool huh?

Let me know if you would like to know ANY MORE fun facts! or anything about the Shinsengumi! :3
